Summer gives you the longest days and the most reliable trail.
Daytime on the glacier can feel warm in the sun, but nights drop well below freezing, so you’ll be glad of a proper sleeping bag.

Spring, autumn and winter
Outside summer, the route is cold, snowy and generally not realistic for a normal trek.
Snow buries sections of the trail, rivers can be hard to cross and daylight is short.
Support is limited, so most operators don’t run the K2 trek outside the main season.
